Apple needs ‘better governance, fewer bugs, more upgrades’

In his latest BusinessWeek column, Alex Salkever says Apple needs better corporate governance, increased quality control, and more product upgrades to make 2004 better than 2003. “Apple clearly had a bang-up year and should be commended for positioning itself well going into the nascent tech upturn. Despite what doomsayers have intoned for years, Apple remains a vibrant niche player and the foremost technology innovator in the PC game. But it could still improve its game quite a bit.

iPatch 2.1

iPatch 2.1 has been released.

iPatch 2.1 is an utility to compare resources of two applications, and can
produce a self-applying patch to update an older version of an application
to a newer version. It now includes Multi-patch option (you can create a
patch for more than one application) and is now Panther & Jaguar compatible.
You can now patch Carbon Applications and Resources Fork files too.
It supports French, English, German and Japanese localizations.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce version 1.2.5 of
LogPile (developed using REALbasic 4.5.3). This update addresses a
large number of performance and stability issues that has plagued
previous versions. Also, this release now provides support for log
files generated by MacOS X 10.3 (Japanese edition). It is also
accompanied by a complete Quick Manual.

LogPile is a useful utility for viewing and analysing OS X’s system and
application logs.
