Miraizon releases Cinematize 2.01

Miraizon today announced the availability of Cinematize 2.01, a software package that extracts audio and video clips from a DVD movie and saves them in a format compatible with standard multimedia editing software such as QuickTime, iMovie, and Final Cut. Version 2.01 includes several new features, such as improved clip selection and complete Japanese language support, as well as a few bug fixes. MacFair attendees dispose of over five tons of waste

At the Southern California MacFair at Cerritos College this past weekend, over 800 attendees took part in 43 Mac seminars and 25 intensive Mac workshops. In addition, this year the Southern California MacFair 2004 made arrangements to provide attendees free disposal of their old computer equipment including monitors, CPUs, fax machines, printers, servers, phone systems and virtually any office electronics product. In two days, attendees disposed of over 11,280 pounds of electronic waste.

First DVB-C digital TV recorder for the Mac launched

At MacExpo in London today, Elgato Systems announced the release of the EyeTV 610, which they say is the world’s first digital TV recorder for DVB-C, the upcoming digital cable standard. Digital Cable (DVB-C) is widely available in Europe and currently has a base of approximately 10 million households. The EyeTV 610 is available now for €329 in countries where the DVB-C standard is supported.

Apple plans launch for iTMS in Japan

Apple plans to open up its iTunes Music Store to Japanese customers by March 2005, the Nihon Keizai newspaper reported on Thursday. The paper said that Apple aimed to offer more than 100,000 songs with an emphasis on Japanese music, making it the largest music download service in the country. In addition to the US, the iTunes Music Store is currently available in 12 European countries. Apple said in October that it plans to open a Canadian store this month.
