MWSF Tutorials, Hands-On MacLabs announced

IDG World Expo today announced the topics for Tutorial sessions as well as the Hands-on MacLabs at January’s Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco. The in-depth conference tracks focusing on the Mac’s key applications and tools will be taught by the leading experts in their respective fields. Some of the applications covered will be Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Mac OS X, Motion, Acrobat, Final Cut Pro, and DVD Studio Pro. The Tutorials are full-day sessions that will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11.

DropDMG 2.5 is now available.

DropDMG is the easiest way to create Mac OS X disk images. Just drag
and drop a folder or file, and DropDMG will create an image in “.dmg”,
“.img”, or “.smi” format–or a Zip or StuffIt archive. Or, you can drag
an existing image or archive file onto DropDMG to easily convert it to
any of the other supported formats. DropDMG supports encryption,
segmented images, and custom icons, and it can create images with
rich-text license agreements in multiple languages.

iTunes, Napster top brands in online music

Global marketing research firm Ipsos-Insight has released a report stating that Apple’s iTunes Music Store and Napster 2.0 lead the pack in terms of brand awareness in the American fee-based digital music market. The study shows that “in summer 2004, American downloaders aged 12 and older were equally as likely to be aware of Napster 2.0 and Apple’s iTunes on a top-of-mind basis (20% each).
