Apple offers Motion 30-day trial

Apple is now offering a 30-day trial of Motion, its high-performance motion graphic design and production application. Apple notes that Motion requires “a fast computer with ample memory.” The company officially recommends a dual 2GHz Power Mac G5, 2GB of RAM or more, Mac OS X v10.3.5 or later, and an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card or better. To verify if your setup can run the application, Apple has created the Motion Compatibility Checker.

Ranchero releases MarsEdit weblog editor

Ranchero Software today released MarsEdit 1.0, the final version of its new weblog editor for Mac OS X. MarsEdit makes “weblog writing like writing email,” with each post edited in its own window, the developer explains. The software features the ability to save posts as drafts, spell-checking, and support for categories, text filters, trackbacks, custom templates, AppleScript, and more. Other MarsEdit features include image and file uploading, a bookmarklet that lets you send a page from your Web browser to MarsEdit, and custom tags.
