Miglia intros DualDisk in 320GB, 500GB sizes

Miglia Technology today announced the DualDisk FireWire 800 storage line. Available in 320GB (US$429) and 500GB ($669) capacities, the DualDisk reads and writes data to two hard drives simultaneously, achieving “incredible” data transfer rates peaking at 88 MB/sec thanks to its specially designed Miglia Catalyst 912 board. The DualDisk also features an ultra-slim aluminium enclosure, hardware level support for Raid 0 (Striping), and DCS cooling system.

CPLAT II: Cross-platform Framework

ksoft (www.ksoft.net) is pleased to announce the release of CPLAT II
which is a complete redesign and modernization of the original CPLAT
cross-platform framework.

CPLAT II is a modern C++ framework using policies and STL for
development of C++ application that will run under MacOS and / or
Windows. Linux support is partial at this time.

CPLAT II does not emulate a platforms controls, but instead uses the
native OS controls on the underlying platform.

An Apple Store Calendar of Events brochure officially confirms the openings of seven new retail stores. The new Apple Stores, a few of which have been previously noted by MacMinute, include: Los Angeles, CA (Century City); Rancho Cucamonga, CA (Victoria Gardens); Danbury, CT (Danbury Fair Mall); Wilmington, DE (Christiana Mall); West Des Moines, IA (Jordan Creek); Braintree, MA (South Shore); and Lynnwood, WA (Alderwood Mall). No opening dates were provided.

Pittsburgh Apple Store report, photos

MacMinute reader Scott Kleinberg provided us with a great report from the opening of Apple’s new retail store in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh, PA. “There were at least 300 people in line when the store opened at 10 a.m. The line was a city block and then some around the next corner. Apple employees dressed in blue shirts walked the line a few times and asked for clapping and some ‘noise’ and plenty of people were more than willing to oblige.
