Jobs, Bono and The Edge appear on CNBC

Apple CEO Steve Jobs and U2’s Bono and The Edge were quickly interviewed on CNBC’s Street Signs following Apple’s special music event in San Jose today. The trio showed off Apple’s new iPod Photo and the new U2 iPod, and talked about the business relationship between Apple and the band. “Our position on sponsorship hasn’t changed,” said The Edge. “It has always been that we do not sell our reputation or our fans regard for our work to anybody. But this is a different thing. This is a technology partnership.

Apple to broadcast highlights from special event

Apple will broadcast highlights from today’s special music event via satellite starting at 3:30 p.m. ET. The event, which took place at the California Theater in San Jose, brought the new iPod Photo and iPod U2 Special Edition. There is no word on if there will be a QuickTime version posted.

Apple releases QuickTime 6.5.2

Apple today released QuickTime 6.5.2, an update to the company’s multimedia software. According to the release notes, version 6.5.2 is an important release that includes a security update and bug fixes. This release also includes enhancements in the Apple Lossless Encoder and AAC codecs, as well as improved support for iTunes and other QuickTime-based applications.
