The Henrico County School Board has said “no” to a laptop renewal program in which Apple offered to renew and extend a lease on the iBooks the school system uses in its technology program, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports. The lease for the laptops used by high school students runs out at the end of the 2004-05 school year, while the lease for middle school students’ laptops runs out the year after that. School Board Chairman Stuart Myers told the the Richmond Times-Dispatch that the laptops are in good shape and will be ready for students when they return to school in September.
