Olympus has unveiled two new digital cameras: the 3.2-megapixel Olympus D-395 and the 6.1-megapixel C-60 Zoom, both due next month. The D-395, with an estimated street price of US$149, is a point-and-shoot digital camera designed for first-time users. It sports: a f2.8, 33mm (in 35mm equivalent) auto focus Olympus all-glass lens with 2.5x digital zoom; 1.5-inch LCD; optical real-image viewfinder; the ability to shoot special 2-in-1 pictures with a split-screen view; settings for image editing in black and white and sepia; and a QuickTime Movie Mode. The C-60 Zoom, with a street price of $449, is targeted to amateur to advanced photographers looking for high-end features and functions. Its features include: a TruePic TURBO Image Processor for rapid startup, shutter release and playback; 12x zoom (3x optical zoom + 4x digital zoom); Macro Mode for close-up photographs; spot metering; auto white balance; exposure compensation; multiple flash settings on the built-in multi-mode flash; a 1.8-inch LCD; the ability to record QuickTime Motion JPEG video; 13 selectable shooting modes; and more.
