Mossberg on the 17″ PowerBook

The Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg takes a look at Apple’s new 17-inch PowerBook in his latest Personal Tech column. “I am typing these words on Apple’s latest PowerBook, the first laptop with a huge, 17-inch, widescreen display,” writes Mossberg. “This rectangular, high-resolution screen is simply breathtaking — vivid, sharp and oh, so roomy. Clipboard Scripts collection released

Automated Workflows today released Clipboard Scripts, a collection of 20 AppleScripts that can be “used by virtually anyone to become more efficient while performing everyday tasks.” Clipboard Scripts utilize the clipboard in Mac OS X to perform specialized tasks. After copying text to the clipboard, users can trigger these AppleScripts to add prefixes and suffixes to each paragraph, sort paragraphs, extract URLs, remove HTML tags, and more. The package sells for US$5.

Pro Tools 6 receives maintenance update

Digidesign has released Pro Tools 6.0.1, a maintenance update to the company’s powerful audio editing solution targeted at professionals. The new version fixes a number of issues with Pro Tools 6.0 and is recommended for all users of the software. Apfelautos.com (Apple-Cars) celebrates first anniversary

We would like to extend our congratulations to Apfelautos.com on its first anniversary. The German site, which launched on this day last year, showcases cars that have been decked out with Apple logos and slogans. Since its launch, Apfelautos.com has received photos of more than 175 cars from eight nations. Cars shown include Ferraris, Jaguars, a camper, two Ducati-motorbikes, a Fiat 500, and many more. Someone even sent in a picture of an Apple-logoed pair of rollerblades.
