MCE offers new desktop, portable DVD-R/RW drives

MCE Technologies today released new desktop and portable DVD-recordable (DVD-R/RW) drives. The desktop model (US$329) is an external DVD-R/RW drive with both FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces, while the portable model ($479) — the Lucid-SD — is a slim, bus-powered DVD-R/RW FireWire drive that weighs-in at less than a pound. The desktop drive writes to DVD-R media at 4x speed and DVD-RW at 2x. It burns CD-R at 16x and CD-RW at 8x. The portable Lucid-SD drive writes to DVD-R and DVD-RW at 1x speed. It burns CD-R media at 16x and CD-RW at 10x.

Ulead today introduced DVD PictureShow for Mac, new software that allows you to create digital photo slideshows for both CD and DVD media. It “lets consumers easily assemble digital images, create sophisticated DVD navigation and polished menus using templates such as holiday, vacation, and romantic. 4D releases Keynote presentation tool

4D, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of 4D Keynote Builder, a sample database application that creates a Keynote presentation based on information stored in a 4th Dimension 2003 database. Basically, the software is an example of how to integrate a 4D database with Apple’s Keynote to build dynamic presentations. 4D Keynote Builder is available for free as source code for 4th Dimension 2003 on Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar).
