Digital imaging veterans Mark Hamburg, Jack Davis and Stephen Johnson have been named as the 2003 inductees into the Photoshop Hall of Fame, recognized for their achievements in Photoshop Business Development, Education and Art, respectively. The induction ceremony, which takes place as part of the PhotoshopWorld Conference and Expo, will be held September 30, 2003 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Buy.com to launch online music service next week

Buy.com will reportedly unveil a new online music service next Tuesday with a US$40 million promotional campaign and a launch celebration in New York’s Times Square. Taking its cue from Apple’s iTunes Music Store, Buy.com will sell individual tracks without collecting a monthly subscription fee, the Mercury News reported. The article also notes that the online retailer will be heavily targeting PC users and has yet to secure licensed music from all five major record labels.
