iTunes encoding/submission service for indies announced

Oasis CD Manufacturing today announced that it has been “hand-picked” by Apple to help supply independent music to the iTunes Music Store. Oasis’ “New Opportunities Package” includes the process of encoding music in Apple’s high-fidelity AAC format for inclusion in the iTunes store. Panic seeking beta testers for upcoming projects

MCE shipping iBooks with internal DVD-R/RW drives

MCE Technologies today announced that it has begun shipping Apple’s new 12 and 14-inch 900MHz iBooks with an internal DVD-R/RW drive as standard equipment instead of the normal CD-RW/DVD combo drive. Each iBook comes with DVD Authoring Software for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9, as well as Toast Lite software for burning audio and data CDs. In addition, the internal drive is compatible with Apple’s iTunes and Finder Burning. The 12-inch iBook is priced at US$1299, while the 14-inch model sells for $1499.
