Best Buy stores to sell Macs

Apple plans to start selling Macs at certain Best Buy locations starting next month, according to CNET News.com. “As part of a pilot program, a few Best Buy stores will begin carrying a larger selection of Apple products, and Apple sales representatives will work in some Best Buy retail locations to help enhance the customer buying experience,” Apple said in a statement.

N.C. Apple Store expecting busy sales tax holiday weekend

The Apple Store in Durham, North Carolina will be opening at 7:00 AM ET (three hours earlier than usual) to accommodate the longs lines of customers expected for the state’s second annual sales tax holiday. In 2002, shoppers looking for a new Mac averaged a two-hour wait, according to Durham’s Herald-Sun newspaper. “If it’s anything like last year, it will be very, very busy,” said Apple Store assistant manager Dan Hughes.
