The new cables include 9-9 pin 18 cm (approx 7 inches), 9-9 pin 0.5 meter (1.5 feet), 9-9 pin 3 meter (9 feet), 9-9 pin 4.5 meter (approx 15 feet), and 9-9 pin 9 meter (approx 30 feet). Apple to have ‘major presence’ at IBC event

Apple has said it will once again have a “major presence” at IBC, an annual European trade show for media, video and broadcasting professionals, which takes place at the RAI in Amsterdam from September 12-16, 2003. Analysts say DRM will legitimize ‘pirates’

An article on the Computerworld Hong Kong Web site notes that Ovum, a European analyst and consulting firm, has published a report saying that DRM (Digital Rights Management) will turn file-sharing “pirates” into legitimate consumers. What won’t work, they say, are the lawsuit actions of the Record Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the United States.
