Now Software shutters Minneapolis office

Now Software, makers of the popular Now Up-to-Date & Contact, this week closed their Minneapolis, Minnesota office, laying off all employees. “While we’re saddened by the loss of our Minneapolis branch, we’re taking this opportunity to expand the Columbus [Ohio] office, decrease costs, and increase our level of service,” Randy Murray, director of marketing at Now Software, told MacMinute.

Apple delays G5 shipment in Japan

Apple said Friday it will delay shipment of the new Power Mac G5 in the Japanese market by one month. According Kyodo News, Apple said that production was behind schedule and that the G5s would be available in September. The 1.6GHz and 1.8GHz models will start shipping in early to mid-September, while the dual 2.0GHz G5 will ship in late September.

3D objects package for Keynote released

Jumsoft today released Keynote Objects 1.0, a collection of 3D objects for Apple’s Keynote presentation software. The company said that the objects are not simple images, but “living” images that take advantage of QuickTime and Quartz Extreme technologies. The US$25 package includes 15 transparent, high-quality objects: Globe, Statistics, @ sign, Client, Puzzle, Cube, Pencil, Web, Propeller, Keynote Objects logo, Attention, Cube bones, MetaBall, Question Mark and Exclamatory Mark.
