Adobe reports $64.5 million Q3 profit

Adobe on Wednesday posted a third quarter profit of US$64.5 million, up from $47.2 million in the same period a year ago. CBS Marketwatch reports that Adobe’s pro forma earnings came in at 28 cents a share to top analysts’ estimates of 25 cents a share, and beat the company’s forecast range of 22 cents to 25 cents a share. Adobe’s sales totaled $319 million, compared to $284.9 million a year ago.

Apple begins Web standards transition

Several readers note that Apple’s new Web pages for the latest iPods are coded in Web Standards-friendly XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2, while other pages on Apple.com appear to still be HTML 4.0 Transitional. As MacMinute first reported last month, Apple has contracted Jeffrey Zeldman of Happy Cog Studios and Douglas Bowman of Stopdesign to help revamp the company’s Web site.

Apple to attend Government Video Technology Expo

Apple will be an exhibitor at this year’s Government Video Technology Expo (GV Expo), which takes place December 3-4 at the Washington DC Convention Center. The event “provides hands on demonstrations of the latest professional video, audio and multimedia products and services available today.” Also, running in conjunction with GV Expo 2003 is
DigitalMediaDC, which will feature over 75 educational sessions on the latest post-production software including Avid, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
