Several readers note that Apple’s new Web pages for the latest iPods are coded in Web Standards-friendly XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2, while other pages on Apple.com appear to still be HTML 4.0 Transitional. As MacMinute first reported last month, Apple has contracted Jeffrey Zeldman of Happy Cog Studios and Douglas Bowman of Stopdesign to help revamp the company’s Web site. Both men are widely known for their standards-based Web design practices. Update: A few readers note that while the pages are indeed XHTML, they do not validate against W3C specifications.
