A new Jupiter Research survey says more than half of online consumers would record programs and movies on their computers if they could playback the content on a standard television. TechWeb calls the report good news for Microsoft’s Windows XP Media Center Edition, but notes that Apple has taken a different approach by focusing on users working with content creation: “Apple’s software is geared toward creating home movies and building music libraries through its iTunes service. The Mac, so far, has not been positioned as a recording device for TV content like Media center and lacks the latter’s remote control features.”
