On January 13 we reported that j2 Global Communications announced the availability of Messenger for Mac OS X, the company’s communications and messaging software. The press release was ambiguous as to whether or not the release would support sending faxes and receiving voicemails. The company has told MacMinute that Messenger for OS X, which can only view faxes, has been “available for approximately a month, but j2 Global chose to wait to announce it to make sure that the version was bug-free and received positive feedback.” The company also says that the full-service package, which can send faxes and receive voicemails, is currently in development and is scheduled for release this summer.
