Other World Computing (OWC) today announced that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Giga Designs to sell its G-celerator family of Power Mac G4 CPU upgrades. The G-celerators offer user-selectable bus speeds and are compatible with any Apple PowerMac G4 model with an AGP slot made prior to August 2002. The G-celerator GC5-1000-D2 ($559) features a 1.0GHz G4 processor, 64KB of L1 cache, 256KB of L2 cache, and 2MB of DDR RAM. The G-celerator GC5-1000 (pricing not available) also features a 1.0GHz G4 processor, 64KB of L1 cache, and 256KB of L2 cache, but does not include any DDR RAM. The G-celerator GC1-800 ($299) features an 800MHz G4 processor, 64KB of L1 cache and 256KB of L2 cache.
