Macromedia today announced the release of Macromedia JRun 4 for Mac OS X, which the company says is the first commercial J2EE compatible application server to support Mac OS X. “With the industry’s most extensive support of standards, Mac OS X is the best platform for Java development and deployment,” said Ron Okamoto, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “Macromedia continues to deliver great solutions for Mac OS X and JRun 4 provides a quick, cost-effective way to deliver J2EE compatible applications. We’re thrilled that Macromedia is bringing their server technology to Mac OS X.” Macromedia JRun 4 for Mac OS X is priced at US$899 per processor and is available today from the Macromedia Online Store.
