Bear Stearns technology analysts Andrew Neff and Ted Chung have issued a report that predicts that the proliferation of 802.11b (AirPort) wirelesstechnology can change the face of computing over the next five years. Neffand Chung believe that the primary demand for the technology will come frommarkets where users spend a vast amount of the day away from their desks,such as sales, factory floor, service, and delivery personnel. Apple isamong the companies profiled in the report as a potential benefactor of thewireless surge.

EarthLink has announced plans to offer high-speed Internet service over AT&T’s broadband cable network, according to c|net. The new service will first be available in the Boston and Seattle areas later this year, followed by additional cities by 2003. EarthLink already offers cable access over Time Warner’s lines in many parts of the U.S.

Blizzard Entertainment recently announced the Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Collector’s Edition, a special version of its upcoming real-time strategy game for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X that will ship in limited quantities upon the game’s release, according to Inside Mac Games.

Adam Kudurshian has released HTML Creator 3.0, a new version of his WYSIWYG HTML editor for Mac OS 8/9 that features a simple, intuitive interface, built-in assistants, and powerful editing tools. Version 3.0 adds support for Style Sheets and Framesets, a batch find and replace system, and a number of other improvements and bug fixes. HTML Creator 3.0 sells for US$15.

Shane Stanley of Myriad Communications and Ray Robertson of Scripting Matters will be offering five days of AppleScript Pro Sessions in Monterey, CA, May 13-17. The first day of sessions will be an introduction to AppleScript, followed by four days of sessions focusing on scripting specific applications such as InDesign, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Photoshop 7, Mac OS X, and the Finder.
