MCE offers CD-RW upgrade for early iMacs

MCE has introduced a 16x10x24x internal CD-RW for first-generation iMacs (233MHz-333MHz). The drive supports booting from CDs, features buffer underrun protection, and is compatible with Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, iTunes, and Disc Burner. The US$199 drive will begin shipping June 21 and can be installed by the end user, although dealer installation is recommended. Toast Lite CD authoring software is available for an additional $20.
