Mac OS X drivers released for Eskape products
Eskape Labs has released Eskape MyTV/X 1.0, a set of Mac OS X drivers for the companies video products, as noted by VersionTracker. The drivers are for the MyTV & MyTV/fm – All NTSC, PAL and SECAM units, MyTV2GO & MyTV2GO/fm All NTSC PAL and SECAM units, MyCapture II, and MyVideo (no video out).

Apple has reduced the minimum advertised price for its low-end, CD-RW iMac to US$1,299. The move allows dealers to sell the iMac for up to $100 less than previously. Historically, Apple has instituted such pricing moves in an effort to clear inventory before discontinuing a product. Apple itself continues to carry the iMac for $1,399.

Pioneer plans to launch a recordable DVD drive for laptops, which will write DVDs at 2x, record CDs at 16x, and rewrite CDs at 10x, according to c|net. There’s no word yet on whether Apple’s PowerBook G4 will be able to accommodate the drive; the PowerBooks requires a slimmer drive than most laptops.
