Adobe warns on third-quarter earnings

Adobe this afternoon warned that third-quarter earnings will fall short at about US$0.18 to $0.23 per share, down from previous estimates of $0.24 to $0.27. Revenues are expected to come in between $270 million and $290 million, down from $300 million to $320 million. Adobe said revenue in July was “down across all business segments and geographic markets,” but cited especially weak sales in Europe and Japan. Adobe’s third-quarter ends August 30.

IDG considering moving summer Expo back to Boston

IDG World Expo is considering moving Macworld Expo out of New York and back to Boston due to rising rent costs at the Javits Center where the conference takes place, according to the New York Post, as noted by MacCentral . Macworld Expo was moved from Boston to New York five years ago. IDG is seeking a few years of free rent at Boston’s new convention center, which is expected to be completed in 2004, and guaranteed hotel rooms.
