Apple yesterday issued a statement saying the company would not participate in Macworld Expo Boston 2004. IDG told MacMinute in a written statement late yesterday that “Apple remains an important partner for Macworld Conference & Expo, and IDG World Expo has been in communication with Apple officials for some time about the move back to Boston. Since we just heard of Apple’s position, we can only speculate about the company’s reasons and hope to learn more.” MacCentral, which is owned by IDG, has an interview with IDG World Expo president and CEO Charlie Greco posted stating that the Macworld Expo in Boston will go on as planned — with or without Apple.
