Media 100 today began shipping the Mac OS X version of its Media 100 i digital video system. Media 100 i Version 8 is geared towards professional content creators, broadcast designers and digital media artists and includes new visual effects creation and sound design capabilities. Media 100 Platinum Software customers and all customers who purchased new Media 100 i systems as of January 8, 2002 will receive the update free. Version 8 also ships with all Media 100 i configurations, with prices starting at US$1,995. Yesterday, Media 100 started shipping a new, expanded feature set for its 844/X professional multi-layer content design. The 844/X workstation prices starts at $65,995.
