Epson today introduced two new direct photo printers, the Stylus Photo 925 and Stylus Photo 825. The Stylus Photo 925 features an automated roll paper cutter, one-touch printing buttons, the ability to crop images without a computer, and digital image archiving to a Zip disk. The Stylus Photo 825 features a control panel, allowing users to make selections such as paper type, paper size and number of copies without having to use a computer, the ability to print color photos as well as black and white and sepia toned prints by choosing the appropriate filter, and also supports roll paper printing. Both printers feature resolutions up to 5760×720 dpi, and feature Epson’s six-color Photo Ink system, BorderFree photo printing technology, USB connectivity, and built-in card slots for a host of digital camera memory cards. The Stylus Photo 825 and 925 will be available by September, priced at US$199 and $299, respectively. Additionally, an optional 1.6-inch color Preview Monitor is available for the Stylus Photo 825 and 925 for $79, which enables users to review and select images before printing without a computer.
