VersionTracker notes the release of iDVD X 2.0.5, an update to Apple’s DVD authoring tool. This latest release includes enhancements to the burning process, more accurate progress reporting and error notifications, and corrects a situation where some files would mistakenly be identified as iDVD 2 documents.

Nine U.S. states and the District of Columbia—groups that didn’t sign on to the Justice Department’s settlement deal with Microsoft—are currently putting the final touches on a proposal that calls for tougher sanctions against Microsoft, according to c|net.

Amazon.com today announced that it purchased a number of assets from bankrupt e-tailer Egghead last week, including its URL and brand name, for US$6.1 million, according to c|net. Beginning last Sunday, Amazon began redirecting Egghead.com to its electronics store. Amazon plans to relaunch Egghead.com with a format similar to Amazon.com but offering some unique products and content, similar to the sites Amazon hosts for Target and Borders.

VersionTracker notes the release of FileMaker Pro 5.5v2, an update to the database software that brings a number of improvements and bug fixes to the application, especially under Mac OS X.
