Apple has posted specific information on the Macintosh Gaming Area at Macworld Expo San Francisco 2002, which will be held January 7-11 at the Moscone Center. Apple this afternoon announced that four of the leading movie trailer companies in Hollywood—The Cimarron Group, Trailer Park, Aspect Ratio, and New Wave Media—have switched the majority of their editing systems to Final Cut Pro this year, making Apple’s high-end digital video editing software the preferred means for creating trailers and commercials. Among the high-profile list of movies whose trailers have been created on Final Cut Pro are: Planet of the Apes, Lord of the Rings and Training Day.

Apple takes the wraps off of Final Cut Pro 3

Apple this afternoon announced Final Cut Pro 3, a major upgrade to its professional digital video editing software. Expected to ship later this month, Final Cut Pro 3 features Mac OS X compatibility, as well a new voice-over tool for audio capture, a new auto-save vault, new editing tools, 3D titling, and more. Final Cut Pro 3 will carry the same US$999 price tag, with upgrades prices at $299.
