GameRanger 2.1.3, as noted by VersionTracker, is a new version of the client for the free multiplayer online gaming service. Version 2.1.3 provides small functionality improvements and bug fixes.

CharisMac updates SCSI drive utility
CharisMac has posted Anubis Utility 3.5, a new version of its SCSI hard drive utility. There’s no mention of the changes in this version. The file is encrypted with a password that current customers should have; Anubis sells for US$29.95.

South Dakota schools install one new Mac for every 15 Gateways
Public schools in South Dakota will be installing 15,000 new Gateway systems and 1,040 new Apple systems, the Governer of South Daktoa announced today. Of note, the Apple systems were purchased for an average of $475 each, compared with $510 for the Gateways. However, while districts will be elligble to purchase more Gateway systems for the same price, there’s no mention of purchasing more Macs.
