Adobe today announced that it has licensed Sonic’s DVD authoring technology, which it will use as the basis for a new DVD authoring title. “With products like Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop, Adobe is already a leader in the digital video and digital imaging markets,” said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president of Adobe Systems’ Graphics Business Unit in a statement. “We are investing in DVD authoring because it complements our existing position in both markets, where DVD is expected to quickly become a primary medium for content delivery and storage.” No additional details on the Adobe-branded DVD authoring software were released.
