Live365, a popular Net radio portal that provides users access to a wealth of Internet music (including hosting their own station), has temporarily shut down after it experienced a glitch with its broadband service provider. The Live365 Web site notes that the company is “seeking to establish a deal with alternative service providers. Unfortunately, due to the volume of traffic we support, our requirements are not easily met.” c|net reports that Cogent Communications, a national data telecom carrier that provides broadband services to Live365’s ISP, shut down services to the provider for repeated violations of its acceptable use policy.
