Dell today posted a second-quarter profit of US$433 million, meeting analysts’ expectations. Revenue for the quarter came in at $7.61 billion, nearly unchanged from last year. Meanwhile, Hewlett-Packard reported a third-quarter profit of US$218 million on revenues of $10.1 billion, down from a $1.04 billion last year on revenues of $11.8 billion. However, the earnings beat analysts’ revised expectations despite the sharp year over year decline. Shares of HP have declined more than 60 percent over the same period.
