Power On Software Purchases Now Utilities from QUALCOMM; Power On Acquires
Powerful Utility Suite to Meet the Needs of Macintosh Users

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ — QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM),
today announced the Company’s agreement to sell Now Utilities(R), a
powerful suite of file and system utilities software designed for the
Macintosh(R) platform, to Power On Software, Inc., a leader in the
development of world- class utilities software. Power On will acquire
responsibility for all sales and support of Now Utilities. Now Utilities
was one of several products acquired by QUALCOMM from Now Software in
November, 1997.
