We have just made The ZipBurst 2.0 CGI available as a demo and for licensing!

http://www.ZipBurst.com/

The ZipBurst 2.0 CGI is a powerful, multi-threaded, ISP-friendly standalone
CGI for searching and reporting databases on the web using WebSTAR and the
MacOS.

[Plus special pricing for the next two weeks! See below.]

With The ZipBurst 2.0 CGI you can search database files without ANY OTHER
Database software on your server. The software works well with normal
WebSTAR file serving and can be configured so that only certain virtual
domains or folder have access to the CGI (no need to set up a second
“special” server). One license will let you run as many users and database
file reports as you can create!

All for $199 (and 15% until June 15th!)

You can also purchase an add-on license to search database files by
distance, based on U.S. Zipcodes (a module we’ve ported from The ZipBurst
1.0 Package for Mac/NT/Unix). The distance based add-on is different from
the basic CGI license, in that it IS licensed per database file per server
per 12 months. The CGI helps you maintain your licenses and track them
easily. The license is $150/year, about 41 cents a day… but until June
15th you can get 2 for the price of 1… that’s just 20 cents a day!

As far as being ISP-friendly, the CGI is also web-user friendly: once you
set up a user to use the CGI, they can FTP up their tab or comma delimited
database files anytime, direct from what ever app they use in their office
to track their data off the web.

We’ve tried to design a database report engine in such a way that you don’t
care how many database files you have on your system. Consider those
databases files as you would GIF, JPEG, or HTML files… REALLY!!!

Of course there are limitations, but we have a feeling LOTS of people want
to server small and medium sized databases (often no larger than a good
sized graphic file). Larger files are supported as well, and we’ve run some
larger files for tests with great results. For transactions that take a
long time, the CGI is completely multi-threaded so you should have no
problem running larger transactions along side smaller ones and normal web
traffic. (The next beta has one feature that will help with timeouts for
VERY large transactions, watch for that in beta 2.)

We’ve tried to make the application VERY ISP friendly and appreciate your
feedback. This includes the sizes of databases you’re running, new feature
requests for tags or methods, and so on. We’ve also taken some steps at
security concerns, but please read our recommendations on the use of REALMS
and let us know what you think.

Visit the web page above, check out the demo sites, download the demo and
give it a whirl. The software has been in use since October for our
ZipServe.com hosting services, but we feel we should consider it beta with
some external test sites over the next few weeks.

PLEASE read through the complete PDF file and feel free to ask questions.
This version has taken the better part of a year to write and we’ve been
using it in-house for seven months. It has what we need, and now we need to
know what your needs are…

SPECIAL PRICING:

We are presently running a 15% off special until June 15th and 2-for-1
licenses for the ZipBurst Proximity Engine (half price!)
