**2.0 Release on Schedule**

Vancouver, Washington DataPak Software’s (DSI) popular cross-platform text
control, PAIGE, is on schedule for a 2.0 release in early July. Used by
developers to add powerful text processing features, such as styles, tabs,
paragraph formatting, multiple columns, etc., the 2.0 version promises to
deliver several new features that have been requested by licensed users of the
technology.

The new import/export feature ships with a RTF translator and gives clients the
ability to build their own translators for HTML, SGML or proprietary standards
like MS Word, WordPerfect, MacWrite, etc.. Unicode compatibility for software
localization, drag and drop, full MFC and OLE support are all new with this
release. In addition PAIGE will ship on CD and will include a fully searchable
electronic version of the product documentation.

A beta version of the 2.0 release was distributed to several source code
clients in early May for testing. “So far only minor issues have been reported
and on a whole the response from beta testers has been very encouraging,”
stated DSI’s VP of R&D Gary Crandall. “We are working out some last minute
details but should have code and documentation changes ready to go within the
next few weeks.”

PAIGE is an important component in hundreds of applications worldwide,
including Macromedia’s Director 5.0, Caere Corporation’s OmniPage, Seagate
Software’s Crystal Reports Professional 5.0 and Scitex America Corp’s
ClickWorks.

**DataPak Software Completes International Version for Macromedia**

Vancouver, Washington, May 1996 DataPak Software (DSI) delivered the finished
international version of their popular cross-platform text control, PAIGE, to
the Director 5.0 development team at Macromedia in San Mateo last week.

Director, the best selling authoring tool for multimedia production, was,
according to reviewers, suffering from text-idis (poor text handling) and
Macromedia turned to DSI to solve the problem for their 5.0 release. In an
effort to silence critics, Macromedia signed a licensing agreement with DSI in
mid 1995 to deliver a multilingual version of PAIGE for Windows 3.1, NT and 95.
In addition Macromedia licensed PAIGE for the entire Macintosh platform both
68K and Power Macintosh.

With PAIGE, the Director team were able to add powerful text processing
features, such as, styles, tabs, paragraph formatting, multiple columns, etc.,
quickly, freeing up precious internal resources to tackle other
internationalization issues.

The Macintosh version of Director shipped earlier in the year and has already
received rave reviews from users and critics alike. According to a company
source, “Out of the support calls being fielded by our customer service
department none of them have to do with the new text functionality we added to
Director.”

Macromedia is just one of hundreds of companies worldwide who have decided to
adopt PAIGE as the text standard for one or more applications within their
product line. DataPak will be releasing a 2.0 version of PAIGE sometime in July
and has plans on the drawing boards to provide an OCX, ActiveX version later in
96′.
