@Last Software begins shipping SketchUp 4.0

– At this week’s Macworld Conference & Expo in Boston, @Last Software announced that it’s now shipping SketchUp 4.0, the latest version of the “3D for the rest of us” software that includes such new tools as Follow Me, Texture Tweaker, Face Me, the Intersector and the Ruby Scripting Interface. SketchUp is used for 3D model creation, viewing, modification and presentation. Unlike 2D software, the SketchUp user is always working in 3D and can orbit around the model at any time with just a mouse click.

@last Software releases SketchUp 3.1

@Last Software introduced today SketchUp 3.1, the latest release of the company’s 3-D design software. New features in version 3.1 include: the addition of thumbnail images to the component browser; 2D vector export (PDF, EPS, DWG and DXF) now supports text and dimensions; and the direct export of SketchUp models to Piranesi EPIX format has been enhanced and added to the Mac OS X version. SketchUp 3.1 is free to owners of SketchUp 3.0 and US$95 for owners of 2.2 and earlier versions.

F1 and @Last Software, makers of SketchUp, have announced the release of the SketchUp Book for 3.0. This book is the second in the SketchUp series, and provides comprehensive coverage of all functionality of this release of SketchUp. The book also features contributions from SketchUp expert and enthusiast, Professor Bob deWitt. SketchUp Book for 3.0 is fast-bound, 416 pages, and sells for US$62.95.
