Griffin Technology today announced the release of PowerMate Software 1.6, which includes a customized setting for GarageBand, Apple’s new music creation software. Version 1.6 will allows the PowerMate to quickly spin through measures of a song and offers speedy push-button playback control. In addition, it offers new settings for the rest of Apple’s iLife suite, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Griffin Technology has released version 1.5.1 of the software for its PowerMate programmable USB audio and media controller. The update improves upon several features including a new Special Key command, and includes minor bug fixes and usability enhancements. The software is available for Mac OS X.
