Griffin Technology today announced the release of PowerMate Software 1.6, which includes a customized setting for GarageBand, Apple’s new music creation software. Version 1.6 will allows the PowerMate to quickly spin through measures of a song and offers speedy push-button playback control. In addition, it offers new settings for the rest of Apple’s iLife suite, Microsoft Word and Excel. Other updates include the ability to turn PowerMate’s LED lights completely off and a new command to enter sleep mode with a push of PowerMate’s button. Both Silver and Black PowerMates are on sale for US$39.99. PowerMate Software 1.6 is a free update for all current PowerMate owners.
