Mireth Technology has announced the Mac SVCD Software Bundle, a collection of digital video software that “gives you everything you need to convert, burn and play Super VCD (SVCD) on Mac OS X.” The bundle includes Mireth’s iVCD, the all-in-one MPEG encoder/converter and VCD & SVCD burner; Mireth’s MacVCD X Video Player; and Apple’s Quicktime MPEG-2 Playback component. The bundle is priced at US$54.95.

Mireth Technology has released ShredIt X 5.2, the latest version of its Mac OS X utility that securely deletes files, folders and disk free space. “Throwing a file in the trash does not remove the file contents from the hard disk — it just removes the file name from the directory, leaving the data intact and vulnerable. What you threw away can be recovered by anyone with access to your computer.” Version 5.2 brings a shred “free space” feature that allows you to shred files which have been previously deleted.

Mireth Technology has released MacMP3CD 1.0 (US$19.95), a new Mac OS X application that allows users to burn and play MP3 CDs — audio CDs that are burned using the MP3 file format, which can hold up to 10 hours of music on a single CD.
