LaCie announces FireWire 800 hard drives
LaCie has announced the launch of a new line of desktop hard drives that support the faster FireWire 800 interface that debuted in Apple’s 17″ PowerBook G4 on Tuesday. The new drives are housed in LaCie’s award-winning d2 design and offer data-transfer speeds of 800Mbps, two times faster than the 400Mbps of the current implementation of FireWire.
