In the wake of a devastating loss to Apple in Federal Court, Samsung has blustered with threats and a publicity campaign that simply whines lies. There have been stories in even the national press that “Apple seeks to limit customer choice” in the smart phone and tablet market. Nothing could be further from the truth. The only thing Apple seeks to limit is Samsung and other companies freeloading on Apple technology and innovation.

Apple, Google CEOs holding secret meetings to resolve issues?

“Reuters” (http://macte.ch/y6t3o) reports that Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Larry Page have been holding behind-the-scenes conversations about a range of intellectual property matters, including the ongoing mobile patent disputes between the companies.

Quoting unnamed “people familiar with the matter,” the article says the two CEOs had a phone conversation last week. One source told “Reuters” that a meeting was scheduled for this Friday, but had been delayed for reasons that were unclear.

Google: most claims in Apple-Samsung case not about Android OS

Google, responding to an U.S. jury verdict that found that Samsung infringed Apple patents, said most of the claims “don’t relate to the core Android” software used in mobile devices, reports “Bloomberg” (http://macte.ch/n7ur2).

“The court of appeals will review both infringement and the validity of the patent claims,” the company said in an email statement. “Most of these don’t relate to the core Android operating system, and several are being re-examined by the U.S. Patent Office.”
