Wall Street Journal also awards high marks to iBook

The Wall Street Journal joins two other major US news publications in praising Apple’s iBook today. Walt Mossberg compares the iBook to a US$1,799 Toshiba Satellite, concluding that “for all that extra size and weight, the Toshiba has almost nothing on the iBook except a larger screen — 14.1 inches vs. 12.1 inches on the iBook. Even then, the iBook actually displays more text on the screen because of its higher video resolution.” (Subscription required)

Polaroid looks to turn itself around with printing kiosks

Struggling camera manufacturer Polaroid today announced a new business strategy that it hopes will restore the company to its former glory. Using its new Opal and Onyx instant color and monochrome technology, Polaroid will collaborate with other companies that will build kiosks, printers and related hardware, one of the goals of which will be to allow consumers to make high-quality prints from their digital cameras.
