Struggling camera manufacturer Polaroid today announced a new business strategy that it hopes will restore the company to its former glory. Using its new Opal and Onyx instant color and monochrome technology, Polaroid will collaborate with other companies that will build kiosks, printers and related hardware, one of the goals of which will be to allow consumers to make high-quality prints from their digital cameras. Polaroid will be facing an uphill battle, however, as it takes on rival Eastman Kodak, which already has 20,000 PictureMaker kiosks in operation.
