Forbes has a run-down of two new printers announced by Sony this week that are capable of producing photo-like prints. Both printers are Mac compatible.

MacCentral has put together a report on the current status of the Chicago Apple Retail Store, including photos. The store, which will be located along the famous “Magnificent Mile” will put the Apple logo in front of tens of millions. Apple’s kept mum on when the store is expected to open.

Fidelity Media has released MegaSeg 2, a new version of its professional-caliber DJ software for mixing MP3s. The new version boasts real-time beat mixing, a new mixer interface, an auto-beat-match feature, and more than 50 other new features and improvements. During the month of June, MegaSeg 2 can purchased for US$119, $30 off its regular price. Upgrades from version 1.x are $49.

By forcing silicon atoms further apart, thereby reducing resistance, IBM says it has developed a technology that could boost processor speeds by up to 35 percent. The manufacturing process, which could find its way into processors in 2003, could mean a big boost for Macs, many of which currently use PowerPC processors from IBM.
