VersionTracker notes that Creative has posted a version 1.04 firmware update for its Nomad IIc MP3 Player. The update provides the US$129.95 device with support for more brands of SmartMedia cards.

The MacHack CD from last week’s conference is now available for US$19.95. The CD contains 82 hacks from the conference, most of which include the source code. Additionally, the CD contains this year’s papers and many of the presentations.

Napster 1.0b2, the Macintosh client to the music sharing service, is now available. The new version supports Napster’s new filtering protocols that the company recently implemented that should provide for more accurate filtering, and thus more songs to download. All previous versions of Napster have been disabled, as well. VersionTracker notes that this release offers lots of bug fixes, new OS X style preferences, and Mac OS X support.
