Napster 1.0b2, the Macintosh client to the music sharing service, is now available. The new version supports Napster’s new filtering protocols that the company recently implemented that should provide for more accurate filtering, and thus more songs to download. All previous versions of Napster have been disabled, as well. VersionTracker notes that this release offers lots of bug fixes, new OS X style preferences, and Mac OS X support. It is also noted that Sharing does not work under OS X as of 10.0.4, so you should turn it off in Napster’s preferences. [3.3MB]
