Extensis today announced the release of a Suitcase plug-in for Adobe Illustrator that will automatically activate any fonts used in an Illustrator document. The plug-in will be available free of charge in August to owners of Suitcase 10, Extensis’ US$99 font management utility.

As demonstrated during today’s keynote, Connectix has released VirtualPC for Mac OS X Test Drive, a public preview of the company’s PC emulation software. Servers are currently flooded with requests, however, so gaining access to the download may be difficult.

Roxio today announced Toast 5 Titanium for OS X Preview 1, a beta of its CD authoring software for Mac OS X available to current Toast 5 Titanium customers. Not all features are available yet in the preview, which expires October 1, 2001.

nVIDIA today announced that Apple’s new Power Mac G4 features the company’s new GeForce2 MX TwinView video card, a special version of the GeForce2 MX that supports two displays. The TwinView card also features 64MB of memory — twice that of the regular GeForce2 MX. The card features one ADC connector and one VGA connector, and ships standard with the high-end, dual-800MHz configuration.

Apple has launched a new promotion in the US that offers a free Lexmark Z32 color printer with a purchase of any new Mac. Apple is also offering $100 off when a customer purchases any of the following: Canon ZR20 DV Camcorder, Canon ZR25 MC DV Camcorder, HP 315 Digital Camera, Handspring Visor Edge, and Rio 600 MP3 Player. $100 rebates can be combined (purchase three of the above products, receive $300 off).
