MP3 Rage update adds minor enhancements

Chaotic Software has posted MP3 Rage 3.7, a new version of its popular MP3 multi-tool that catalogs, organizes, renames, converts, supports sharing, and more. Version 3.7 adds support for adding or removing album artwork for multiple files at once, visual indication if lyrics or artwork is present in a file, display long file names in the QuickEdit window, and fixes bugs. MP3 Rage is US$24.95 shareware.

Songistix updates mid-range speaker system

Songistix, which last week updated its entry-level MH-502 Monsoon speakers, today introduced the MM-702, an upgraded version of its mid-range three speaker system. The MM-702 is louder and offers improved clarity over the previous MM-700 system, as well as an improved subwoofer and adjustable satellite stands. The MM-702 will carry the same US$149.95 price tag as its predecessor. The translucent iM-700 series speakers will also presumably be updated, although there’s been no official word yet.

Apple UK beefs up iMac software bundle for limited time

MacUser UK notes a new iMac promotion from Apple UK that features an upgraded software bundle. Customers who purchase an iMac in the UK or Ireland between now and September 30 will receive the standard software bundle, as well as Tomb Raider – The Last Revelation, Sim City 3000, Escape From Monkey Island, Route 66 Europe 2000, Ultralingua, the Encyclopaedia of Science, Adiboo Environment, and Star Wars Pit Droids. There’s no mention as to whether the promotion will be available in other regions.

Lightwave 7 lands today

Newtek will be releasing LightWave 7 later today at Siggraph, notes Macworld UK. The upgrade to the popular 3D modeling application reportedly includes a Squash and Stretch tool; the ability to Load and Save Hierarchical Motion data containing all the relevant components, motions and channels for a character group for realistic animation; and the ability to allow mass scene changes to be easily executed.
